[OLD] How To Choose Your Table Tennis Table?

DO YOU WANT PLAY INDOORS, OUTDOORS OR BOTH?

Indoor table tennis tables have a chipboard top:

  • Better rebound
  • Good quality/price ratio
  • Do not withstand sun, humidity and outdoor conditions

Outdoor table tennis tables have a resin laminate top :

  • Can stay outside all year round (resistant to rain, frost, snow and sun)
  • Are much more resistant than indoor tables
(especially to racket blows and impacts)
  • 90% of private households choose outdoor table tennis tables

An outdoor table for use indoors

We strongly recommend that you choose an outdoor table, even when it is for indoor use (garage, cellar, etc.) As well as providing an excellent playing performance, Cornilleau's outdoor tops have the advantage of being weather and shock resistant so they are ultra-durable. That's why we guarantee our outdoor tables for 10 years compared with 3 years for the indoor versions.

MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE:

FIRST CONSIDER YOUR NEEDS AND COMPARE THESE AGAINST THE TABLE'S FEATURES.

1) The Playing Surface:

Bounce height depends on the thickness of the playing surface.  For either chipboard or resin laminate tops, the thicker the panel the better the bounce.

Outdoor table:

Quality materials adapted to your needs :

  • Tables with a resin laminate top can stay outside without deteriorating and are extremely resistant to racket blows. They range from 5 to 9mm thick and are made of anti-corrosion materials ensuring resistance to bad weather.

  • Cornilleau has been a pioneer in "outdoor" table tennis tables for the garden. They are designed with anti-corrosion materials ensuring resistance to bad weather.

Indoor table:

  • Chipboard tops ensure a good quality rebound and a good quality price ratio. The tops range in thickness from 19 to 25mm.

Anti-glare Coating on Outdoor Tables:

Play in the sunshine without being blinded by glare.

STANDARD COATING: To enjoy playing table tennis without the glare from the sun impacting your game, Cornilleau has chosen not to manufacture tables that don't have an anti-glare coating.

SOFTMAT: 3 times less glare from the sun - supplied as standard on the 100S, 150S, 250S and 300S.

MATTOP: 10 times less glare from the sun and improved transmission of spin. Supplied as standard on the 400M, 500M, 700M, Pro 540M, Pro 510M and PARK.

2) The Frame:

The frame provides the flatness and rigidity of the panel.

  • The thicker the frame, the flatter the playing surface (from 30 to 60mm).
  • All our table tennis tables are manufactured with aluzinc metal frames, an anti-corrosive alloy for better durability.

3) The Legs:

Legs provide the table's stability so a large diameter provides better stability.  Added to that, larger feet will not sink into the ground.

4) Safety System:

Our entry level tables have the Push'n Lock system with 8 locking points.  Tables higher up the range benefit from Cornilleau's DSI system. The DSI system is currently the highest safety system on the market with 16 locking points.

Folding:

The patented "Compact Technology" system ensures optimum safety, easy movement and minimises storage space requirements.

Centralised opening and closing handle :

DSI2

Using a central handle, the table can be opened and closed with extreme ease. The DSI Integrated   Double Security system has 16 locking points. This is used on all rollaway tables except the 100 Indoor, 100S and 150S Crossover.

THE CROSSOVER RANGE AND OVERSIZE DOUBLE WHEELS

CLEARANCE

The extra large diameter (200 mm) of the oversize wheels used on our outdoor tables, combined with their ultra-robust design, offers easy movement over uneven surfaces such as steps, paving stones etc.

FLEXIBILITY

The wheel bracket links the two wheels at the very spot where there are the greatest mechanical stresses. As such, our engineers, have taken very special care with the design of this part, in order to make the table incredibly easy to manoeuvre in any situation.

MANOEUVRABILITY

The greater the number of wheels, the greater the load-bearing capacity. Cornilleau's use of wide, twin wheels (38 or 32mm depending on the model), with a flattened composite tyre, significantly improves the manoeuvrability of the table, especially on uneven surfaces (lawn, gravel, wooden terrace, etc).
